Winter holiday in the Allgäu – soft & authentic

When winter arrives here in the Allgäu, we look forward with anticipation to sunny days skiing, cosy winter hikes and excellently prepared cross-country skiing trails. The Allgäu mountains are known for their varied slopes, well-maintained family pistes and excellent infrastructure. Whatever you need for your ultimate winter happiness, you will find it in the Allgäu!

Winter sports on the Tegelberg in Schwangau

A cable car gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy wonderful views of the beautiful Allgäu region. You won’t go hungry either: Bavarian specialities are a real treat in Tegelberghaus, King Ludwig’s former hunting lodge, and on the large sun terrace of the panoramic pub. There’s also something to offer sports enthusiasts. Spacious hiking trails are just waiting for you to use them at the upper station. For sporty skiers, the 4.2 km-long downhill slope is a classic. With a height difference of 900 m, this piste promises a wonderful skiing experience. There’s plenty to keep families busy as well, with several snowy pistes in the valley. The illuminated night trail below Neuschwanstein Castle is a real highlight for cross-country skiers.

Breitenbergbahn Pfronten

The Breitenberg is a ski resort for the whole family. A cable car, a four-seater chairlift and two mini-lifts guarantee endless skiing fun. Snowboarders can let off some steam in the Funpark in Kesselmoos. Winter hikers can enjoy wonderful views of the two well-maintained winter trails. There’s something special on offer for tobogganists: the longest natural toboggan run (6 km) on the “Ostlerforstweg” with its sporting curves and narrow passageways promises huge amounts of fun. Good to know: a free bus service brings you back to Talstation.

A double chairlift takes you up to 1,140 metres above sea level where you can experience a mountain with many facets.
